Embrace

And their shape and their hair and their eyes and their smell and their voice. That suddenly, these things can exist and you’re not quite sure how they existed without you knowing about them before. I Wrote This For You

Linked

Maybe the first time you saw her you were ten. She was standing in the sun scratching her legs. Or tracing letters in the dirt with a stick. Her hair was being pulled. Or she was pulling someone's hair. And a part of you was drawn to her, and a part of you resisted--wanting to ride off on your bicycle, kick a stone, remain uncomplicated. In the same breath you felt the strength of a man, and a self-pity that made you feel small and hurt. Part of you thought: Please don't look at me. If you don't, I can still turn away. And part of you thought: Look at me. - Nicole Krauss, A History of Love

Happy Thought

There is only one page left to write on. I will fill it with words of only one syllable. I love. I have loved. I will love. -Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler's Wife

I wish for a moment that time would lift me out of this day, and into some more benign one. But then I feel guilty for wanting to avoid the sadness; dead people need us to remember them, even if it eats us, even if all we can do is say "I'm sorry" until it is as meaningless air. - Audrey Niffenegger, The Time Traveler's Wife

She Misses You

It never occurs to anyone that she might have loved someone and that it was important. - Milan Kundera, The Book of Laughter and Forgetting

mugging

ladeedum! just helped my mum type some assignment, so just decided to pop by here. got so bored trying to concentrate reading bio just now. it's droning on and on because all the facts i'm trying to cram into my head aren't like new or something, as in i browsed through it before. ARGH. i hate reading about plant reproduction. not sexy enough. hahaha X.X

ooh. o.0 had breakfast in the airport. i am absolutely infatuated over that place. it's so cool! and i am so grateful for mr lee kuan yew to have maintained the place so GO! PAP. haha. i'm biased but i'm frustrated my parents don't get to vote! NOT FAIR! i don't want a walkover. and i think there is absolutely no point in the school teaching us how to be convinced by leaders, because just vote for PAP and your future is guaranteed. i mean like the dunno-who teacher who just had to talk about the GENERAL ELECTIONS asked very stupid questions like this:

Will the best leader always win elections?

My answer to that? well, to win the elections, you must have very good speaking skills so as to convince the people of your capabilities as a good leader. If that simple task cannot be done, it means you're just not the best.

what crap larh? and the girls kept going on and on about whether there was a fair playing ground. for heavens sake, this sort of question has already been answered again and again. which running government would allow their opposition to have a fair playing ground with them? and i believe this is an entitlement to the current government who has stood and won all elections since singapore's independence. -eyerolls-

ta-ta for now. will edit this post and blog about princess mononoke later, seeing i haven't left my house to go to tiffy's! (:

{edit}

yes, so i was late. couldn't get a damn cab. /: but anyways it was quite productive today. finished up the gantt chart and project planner and watched princess mononoke. it's japanese anime and it's super wishy-washy, but the story was quite okay larh. we were eating non-stop throughout. hahaha (: gonna grow fat soon, besides, guiqi has choir concert coming soon too! exams, stay away! /:

i'm kinda looking forward to sunday! tomorrow! prettaye sure its gonna be a wonderful day even if i'll end up studying right up to the night because i'm busy in the day...

YAY! MY DAD'S COMING BACK TOMORROW! <3

hahaha. i'm also going over to tiff's house to watch princess mononoke. and try to analyse the damn sci-fi thingy which (in short from what my mentor was going on and on about) is actually a how-to-write-a-lit-review crash course. DANG! shaina read through half of it and she said it was totally un-understandable, but SOMEHOW, we've gotta get something out of that shitty thingy and come up with a stupid gantt chart. (i'm dreading the chart) ):

i think the school should just forget about getting any prize whatsoever from MOE. fat hope mann, when your school has rats in the kitchen and classrooms. there are rat droppings everywhere and bees flying in and out. i seriously thank god we haven't contracted malaria or SARS or chicken flu or rabies. WHAT KIND OF A GOOD ENVIRONMENT IS THIS SO MUCH SO THE SCHOOL IS EVEN WORTHY OF A PRIZE?!?

but of course, the teachers don't care about that do they? all they care about is the wonderful opportunitiy of increasing their bonuses and moving a notch up the social ladder. if i weren't a pathetic muggle, i'd have sprung on the chance to say a waddowassi at any teacher. an expecto patronum would do good too, seeing their great similarity towards dementors at sucking the happiness out of us. and lastly, and avra kedavra would be the most appropriate. finish them off once and for all. period.

sigh. getting all potty (get the pun! (:) after having this heated discussion with liting, gloria and mavis about the latest potter movie. apparently, we all feel it suck-ed, especially the YULE BALL. (:

ARGH. geography, here i come!
